Founding Member

Elena Shokhina founded Brevard Ballet Youth Company in 2018 after recognizing the need for a dedicated performance platform for the students of Brevard Ballet Academy. As Artistic Director, Elena oversees all creative decisions, casting, choreography, and production elements for each season. Her commitment to classical ballet excellence and youth development defines the artistic identity of the company. Elena also serves as the founding director of Brevard Ballet Academy, Melbourne's premier classical ballet training school.

Frank Schrader

Frank Schrader serves as Board Chair of Brevard Ballet Youth Company, bringing extensive experience in community leadership, organizational governance, and nonprofit management to the role. Frank has been a committed advocate for the performing arts in Brevard County for many years and was instrumental in the founding of the Youth Company. As Board Chair, Frank guides strategic planning, board governance, and the long-term sustainability of the organization.

Irene DuBois

Irene DuBois brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit governance, community relations, and educational programming to the Brevard Ballet Youth Company board. A lifelong arts supporter and Brevard County community leader, Irene champions the Youth Company's mission to make classical ballet accessible to all Brevard County residents. She plays a key role in the organization's outreach efforts and community partnerships.

Marilyn Torres

Marilyn Torres serves on the Brevard Ballet Youth Company board with a focus on development, fundraising, and donor relations. Her passion for arts education and youth development makes her an invaluable advocate for the organization's mission. Marilyn leads efforts to cultivate corporate sponsorships and individual giving that enable the Youth Company to produce full-scale classical ballet productions each season.
